CNRS medals: Jean Massies honored (11/2008)

Médaille d'argent 2007 Jean Massies CNRS Research Director at CRHEA, officially received the CNRS silver medal at a ceremony on November 27, 2008 at CRHEA. This distinction crowns his work on molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and gallium nitride (GaN). This material makes it possible to produce blue diodes which, with the increase in power of the light-emitting diodes (LEDs), is about to revolutionize the lighting.

CNRS-CRHEA : 1st french blue laser diode (1995)

Au coeur de la lumière The first French semiconductor diode emitting in blue was made by CRHEA in Sophia Antipolis. This remarkable result was obtained after seven months of work by the team and professor Jean-Pierre Faurie, who presents here the progress of his research and the equipment used for the manufacture of the laser diode (epitaxy chamber where ultra-high vacuum).
