The Advanced Characterization and Technology Team
(CAT for Caractérisation Avancée et Technologie) coordinates support activities for CRHEA research teams, which are grouped
into two platforms : CRHEATEC
and CRHEACAM. Through these two platforms, CAT offers a range of techniques dedicated to
cutting-edge structural characterization of materials with various techniques and micro- and nano-fabrication in clean rooms.
The center has historical expertise in III-nitride materials, ZnO, and SiC, but is also developing expertise in new materials,
particularly 2D and perovskites.
The resources implemented within the CAT are accessible to researchers from the laboratory as well as to external laboratories and companies. Currently, seven engineers are directly attached to the cluster. Their missions are structured around three areas:
- User services, to address requests for measurements or work carried out as part of research conducted in laboratories or by external partners.
- Training, for platform users who wish to develop their independence or to develop specific knowledge of our techniques among staff.
- Research, to develop our own research in order to enrich the laboratory's themes and contribute to the scientific influence of the CRHEA. The CAT center also welcomes researchers who develop analysis or manufacturing techniques in a highly specific and expert manner, beyond the research activities already identified within the laboratory's thematic teams.
